Our story starts with our founder, Shan Siddiqui, a native of Pakistan where the Indus River carves its path to the Arabian Sea, nurturing an expanse of fertile lands that have cradled civilizations from time immemorial, including the technologically advanced Indus Valley Civilization. From this rich heritage, Shan’s fascination with the intersecting worlds of agriculture and technology was born.

Shan’s was exposed to farming at a young age, a passion he retained as an enthusiastic gardener whilst navigating the corporate world. A technology enthusiast, Shan delved into the intricacies of drones and artificial intelligence in the mid-2010s, finding their potential applications in farming captivating.

His vision for Algebra Solutions crystallized during a trip to Pakistan in 2021 when he employed his drone to map a local papaya plantation. The drone’s orthomosaic images revealed a stark contrast between flourishing and failing sections of the plantation, a perspective obscured from the ground. Artificial intelligence further enriched this aerial scouting, counting the plants and identifying those afflicted by a virus. It was a profound revelation of how drone mapping and AI could unlock new potentials in agriculture.

In his quest to find a comprehensive solution integrating both drone technology and AI for the benefit of farmers, he found a gap. While many companies were selling drones or creating AI software, very few offered a complete solution that bridged these technologies. And so, Algebra Solutions was born.
